About us

Evie Grace Foundation is a non-profit organisation based in Australia and is committed to eliminating child exploitation through community empowerment and education programs in Malawi & Kenya. As a registered charity we educate children, youth and communities about Human Rights to protect children from being sexually exploited and trafficked and are receiving their right of education. In partnership with local grassroots organisations we advocate for street children and rescue them from horrendous conditions like starvation, rape, kidnapping, exploitation and death. At Evie Grace Foundation we have a big mission and we can’t achieve it alone; will you stand with us to advocate on behalf of and support the rights of children?

Our Main Projects

Fundraising for Land

At Global Hope Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre, children knock the gates every day and beg to be taken in by the centre because they are being chased and beaten by police, facing starvation and have nowhere else to go. Yet the centre is entirely out of space! Our mission is to buy a piece of land so they can build a new home to continue saving children from the horrendous conditions on the streets and giving them a life they deserve. We successfully fundraised $90,000 and Global Hope purchased one acre of land in Ngong, Kenya. We are so incredibly grateful to each and every supporter that made this possible.

Evie Grace's Story

Maddi Kent (Founder of the Evie Grace Foundation): “Evie was a close friend and the inspiration for starting the Evie Grace Foundation. The first time I met her, I can only describe her as an absolute ray of sunshine. The way Evie greeted others was unlike anyone I’d ever seen, with such pure love, happiness, and acceptance. Losing Evie is something that still weighs heavily on my heart, and my life has completely changed since. I want the Evie Grace Foundation not only to ensure that Evie’s name and legacy live on but also to represent what Evie gave others – love, kindness, and infectious happiness.”

In the words of Evie's Family

Evie Grace Ellen Anderson came into this world on September 28th, 1994 and left us around October 6th/7th 2017. The first child of Victoria and Warren, she was later joined by siblings Ashley and Ruby. Evie came into the world in a hurry. Arriving two weeks early, she never stopped moving. Talking before she could walk, Evie grabbed the world with both hands.
From a young age, Evie connected to other people instinctively. At three years old, she left our table in a food court, a bucket of chips in hand, to visit a table several over where a small boy was crying. ‘Boy was sad’ were the words she spoke on her return after offering a chip and a hug to a stranger.
When her brother was at kindergarten, Evie was seven years old. On overhearing that one of the boys was having nightmares, she collected up her craft supplies, made a dream catcher and offered it to the boy’s mother. All off her own accord.
Later in High School, she made individual cupcakes for all her friends for an end of year gathering. This person likes cars, this one plays guitar and this one loves horses. Everyone got a personalised cupcake. If anyone ever gave to Evie, they got something in return. Baking was often the reward but also craft and letters or simply time and kind words.
Evie was so excited telling us about the ‘my period won’t stop’ project. Ringing to tell us about an amazing woman doing amazing things. It is great to know that our beautiful daughter is able to have her name against this amazing Foundation.
